Tell me about Health Insurance

Health Insurance
Health or medical insurance is a type of insurance that covers the cost of a persons medical and surgical expenses.
Depending on the type of health insurance coverage an insurer either reimburses costs paid by the insured member or the insurer makes payments directly to the provider.
In health insurance terminology, the "provider" is a clinic, hospital, doctor, laboratory, health care practitioner, or pharmacy. The "insured" is the owner of the health insurance policy; the person with the health insurance coverage.
Though you have access to two types of Health Insurance, these are:
Luxembourg Domestic cover - Coverage that is designed specifically for persons living and / or working in Luxembourg. This policy is offered by a local Luxembourg insurer who have relationships with the providers in the area which means a majority of costs are paid directly to the provider - Depending on the benefits of the plan.
International Private Medical Insurance (IPMI) - Coverage designed for frequent travellers or expatriates working in multiple locations. As the policy can be used throughout a 'region' it is likely to be offered at a greater cost then domestic cover.
